Skegness 2026 Advance Notice of Playing Times for Men & Mixed

Sun Castle Greens, North Parade, Skegness – 22nd to 29th August 2026

Please see below information relating to rounds 1 & 2 of individual competitions.

The first of these will start on Monday 24th August.

It is hoped to play the 3 bowl and 2 bowl rinks semi finals on Thursday 27th with the finals being played on Friday 28th if possible.

Play may be extended with an extra session on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

It also means we will have to play some other finals on the Friday Afternoon.

Also due to the number of people in 3 or more competitions some finals may extend to later on the Saturday.

Also, because of the amount of games some competitors are playing, it may be that they are playing on the same rink more than once. Can I ask competitors to be patient and to give respect to Barbara and Brian in the Tournament Office who will announce the outstanding matches as soon as possible.

Outstanding matches will be displayed on the notice board at the side of the Tournament Office during the week. We have tried to put dates and rinks in the programme for most of the games, however, with all the duplications we have this year it has been impossible to roster some games.

You are advised to buy a championship programme for further details and these will be available from outside the Secretary’s Office from Saturday 21st August.

If you reach the semi-finals and finals, please do not leave the vicinity of the greens without checking your times with the Tournament Director.

Bowls will be examined for stamping complete with County Stickers.

At all Presentations, winners & runners-up are required to be in Match Dress, see rules 7.21 & 7.21 (1 & 2) page 44 of the 2026 yearbook.

N.B. Men, please note that ties are optional during play and t-shirts are not allowed – anyone wearing a t-shirt will be asked to change.

Where a match is rained off in the individual comps the 75% rule will apply. See rule 7.19a Page 43 of the yearbook but 7.19b for team events.
